March 5 - May 21
Heliskiing in northern Sweden offers over 5,000 square kilometres of ski terrain in the vast wilderness of the north. With more than 60 mountain peaks, the area offers everything from easy, low angle skiing on wide faces to the steepest of challenges for true professionals. Our helicopters whisk you away to one of the country’s most inaccessible alpine areas, with steep or mellow mountains and mighty glaciers - perfect for off-piste skiing. The average vertical drop is between 500 and 900 metres, but the longest runs can be up to 1450 metres.
South of Niehku Mountain Villa rises Kebnekaise, Sweden’s highest peak, reaching some 2,100 metres above sea level - the exact height is depending on the snow depth on the glacier. Around Kebnekaise there is some wild terrain for skiing - a mind blowing experience for every ski aficionado.
On a typical day’s skiing we’ll tackle eight to twelve runs, sometimes more, depending on the snow and weather conditions. During your day on the slopes you’ll enjoy a hot lunch in the wilderness prepared at Niehku, as well as snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to boost your energy for the next run. We ski in small groups of four skiers or snowboarders plus a guide. There are never more than two groups sharing a helicopter. All guides are internationally IFMGA-certified with many years of heliskiing experience.
You need to have basic skiing/snowboarding skills to go heliskiing but the level can be anything from average to expert.
Semi-Private Heliskiing in Riksgränsen, Swedish Lappland, is the perfect way to experience world-class heli skiing without booking a fully private helicopter. With only two groups of up to four skiers sharing one helicopter it still keeps the experience personal and exclusive. You can book as a full group of four, or join as a smaller party and be matched with other skiers. With an IFMGA-certified mountain guide leading the way, each group skis at its own level while enjoying the mountain and the snow together.
